Physio-bility is a friendly, professional and very experienced physiotherapy service that will visit you in your own home to help you back on your feet, figuratively as well as physically. We appreciate every patient has had a different journey and therefore they are treated as an individual with their own goals and aspirations.
A physiotherapist from Physio-bility will visit you at your own home or care home to complete a through assessment of your needs and together agree a treatment plan to achieve these.

All assessments and treatments will be completed by a physiotherapist who is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Neuro Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy following a stroke, if you have Parkinson's disease, MS or any other neurological condition.
You are likely to already have had some physiotherapy input. We are able to work with you to continue your recovery with the aim of our input being focused on you as an individual. Input will likely include:​

Exercises to increase muscle strength and flexibility

Balance training

Restoring normal movement patterns

Gait retraining

Stretches to lengthen tight muscles, help decrease spasticity and reduce contractures

Activities based around daily tasks to help improve getting in and out of bed, walking, climbing the stairs or shopping.
Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy for joint aches and pains, often thought of as out patient physiotherapy or physiotherapy completed in a clinic setting.
Following our assessment we will be able to identify the areas that need addressing. Input will likely include:

Soft tissue mobilisation

Advice and education relating to your rehabilitation.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a treatment derived from ancient Chinese medicine. Fine needles are inserted at certain sites in the body for therapeutic or preventative purposes. Pain relief is achieved through stimulating the brain and spinal cord to produce natural pain-relieving chemicals, such as endorphins, melatonin to promote sleep and serotonin to promote wellbeing.
​Acupuncture is carried out by physiotherapists who are members of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP).​​
Post hospital admission recovery
Following any period in hospital you may feel a little less yourself and find tasks you used to complete more challenging, or that your walking isn't what is was before. Our input will look at addressing these concerns and problems with:

Activities based around daily tasks to help improve getting in and out of bed, walking, climbing the stairs and getting out shopping in order to get you back to doing what you want, need and love to do within your own home and local community.

Falls prevention and management

Falls are a common but often overlooked cause of injury. Around 1 in 3 adults over 65 and half of people over 80 will have at least one fall a year. This can lead to a loss of confidence and an increased fear of further falls. Our input will include:​

Rehabilitation after surgery
Physiotherapy after any orthopaedic surgery is vital to helping you achieve the best outcome. Our input will include:

Activity based exercises to help you regain your independence with day to day tasks, like getting out of bed, loading the washing machine, gardening or getting back to sport.
